About us
Abed and Sohail Ahmed, qualified teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCo), founded Lozells Knowledge Hub to offer accessible, quality education to all ages. Born and raised in Lozells, their deep community ties drive their passion for education. With expertise in SEN, the hub provides tuition classes while also giving back through free services. Lozells Knowledge Hub enriches and empowers the community’s education.

Sohail Ahmed (Humanities & Social Science Teacher). Qualifications: PGCE QTS, BSc. NASENCo. Responsibilities: SENDCo.

Prices are based per hour. Sessions are 2 hours long. Packages are based per subject. Payments are made for the month in advance via cash or standing order.

What will my child learn?
What will my child learn?
We follow the national curriculum for KS1-4. The NC is a set of subjects and standards used by primary and secondary schools so children learn the same things. It covers what subjects are taught and the standards children should reach in each subject.
What exam board do you use?
We cater for all exam boards. By law, all exam boards must follow the national curriculum.
How do I know if my child is making progress?
You will receive a termly report which will consist of initial and end of term assessment scores, along with areas for improvement.
What is your teaching style?
All lessons will begin with a prior knowledge check, I do/we do, deliberate practice, reasoning and problem solving. Our teachers will do regular checking for listening & understanding through mini-whiteboards and cold-calling.
Will my child have the same teacher?
Yes, we believe children need consistency. Therefore, subject teachers are unlikely to change.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we offer discounts to famililes who enrol more than one child (siblings) or more than one subject. More details can be found when signing up.
Are the teachers qualified and DBS checked?
Yes, all teachers are qualified and majority are from Lozells. They are all DBS checked and suitable to teach young people of all ages and backgrounds. You can check their descriptions above.
How do you support SEND students?
Abed & Sohail are SENDCos. They have a wide range of experience and expertise to support SEND students.
How do you support parents of children with SEND?
We offer free SEND services with advice for EHCPs, Exam Access Arrangements, Medical Conditions and other areas.
